Fish Union

Fish Union is a fishmongers by day and a restaurant by night but despite it appearance do not mistake this establishment for a chippy.

The restaurant has a very small outside seating area, which in the summer (IF we ever get one) is pleasant. While we waited for our table to be ready we sat outside with a drink and I noticed that they were quite busy for a small venue.

There are around eight tables inside which gives this place a cosy feel.

The cocktails weren’t anything to shout about but that isn’t why we came. The food was impressive, I’m not sure what I was expecting but it certainly wasn’t this.

The waitresses were friendly and gave their recommendations ( something I always look for).

We had a mix of small plates and a main fish plate to share.

The chilli salted tiger prawns will wow you, the Yellowfin tuna tataki will please you, the padron peppers will warm you and the Octopus and onion soubise will sucker punch you. All in a good way. I could eat a bowl of the onion soubise.

We had Gilthead bread with garlic butter and confit crispy potatoes to follow the starters and this ‘fish and chips’ is a real crowdpleaser.

We were actually way too full for dessert, but I took one for the team and for the sake of the review I ordered the salted caramel chocolate fondant. I have nothing to say except order it when you go. Please and thanks.

My final thoughts? If you happen to be in Chislehurst, book a table at Fish Union if you are a fish and seafood fan.
